Hello, Paladins!
The Beta V79.3 update has just landed, and it’s packed with exciting new features, fresh content, and gameplay improvements.
In this breakdown, we’ll cover the four major updates:
- A brand-new Dragon Cave Quest in the Stronghold
- Five new dragons joining Dragonspire
- Quality of Life (QoL) updates for resources, Summon Portal, and effect wording
- Eight new heroes from the Mimic, Liangshan, and Legends 2025 families
Let’s dive right in.
1. New Quest – Dragon Cave!

One of the most exciting additions in V79.3 is the Dragon Cave quest, located directly in your Main Base.
As the name suggests, this quest supercharges your Assist Dragons with impressive buffs:
- +500% Spirit Bonus
- +500% Damage
- +100% Healing
This makes them incredibly strong and reliable when clearing stages.
Special Rule
Each Assist Dragon can only be used once—though in this Beta test, that restriction is not yet active.
This limitation is designed to encourage strategic dragon selection and deeper interaction with the Dragonspire system.
Why It Matters:
The rewards include rare items needed to recruit and ascend dragons—resources that are often difficult to obtain unless you’re actively farming Dragonspire.
By adding this quest to the Main Base, the developers are making dragon progression far more accessible.
2. Five New Dragons in Dragonspire
V79.3 also expands Dragonspire with five new dragons, each bringing unique abilities and elements.
- Tropicus – Preserver of the Tropics (Rare Nature)
Role: Damage Dealer + Attack Debuffer

- Frosthowl – Protector of Glaciers (Epic Ice)
Role: Healer + Attack Buffer

- Firewing – Dragon Chef (Legendary Fire)
Role: Healer + Attack Buffer

- Hightide – Watcher of Sunken Treasure (Legendary Ice)
Role: Reaper + Healer

- Procyon – Trash Collector (Legendary Nature)
Role: Max HP Reducer + Status Effect Blocker

Impact:
These additions not only enhance battle strategy but also give collectors more variety and reasons to expand their Dragonspire roster.
3. Quality of Life (QoL) Updates
This patch also brings three QoL improvements aimed at making gameplay smoother.
A. Easier Resource Use

Using Resource Bundles or Energy Flasks is now effortless—just tap the resource icon to see:
- Available bundles
- Quantity to use
- Refill amounts
No more tedious trips to the inventory.
B. Summon Portal Enhancements

The Gem Summon Challenge now includes:
- Hero Trainers
- Legendary Ascension Materials
While the mechanics remain the same (spend gems → fill progress bar → claim rewards), the extra item variety might not be universally welcomed—many players already have other ways to obtain these rewards.
C. Clearer Effect Wording
Resist-type passive effects have updated text for better clarity. Functionality hasn’t changed—just easier-to-read descriptions.
4. Eight New Heroes
Finally, Beta V79.3 introduces eight new heroes from three different families.
Mimic Family

- New Item: Mimic Emblems (various elements)
These offer extra rewards—currently normal Emblems, though Master Emblems could arrive in future updates.
Liangshan Family
- Wu Yong – Knowledge Star of Water Margin
(Legendary Holy, Wizard Class)

- Lin Chong – Panther Head of Water Margin
(Legendary Nature, Ranger Class)

Legends 2025
- Liora – The Benevolent Bandit
December 2025 Hero of the Month (Legendary Nature, Ranger Class)

A full hero performance breakdown will be coming soon, covering Campaign, Raids, and Titan battles.
Closing Thoughts
To recap, Beta V79.3 delivers:
- A Dragon Cave quest that makes Assist Dragons stronger and more relevant
- Five new dragons with unique tactical roles
- Useful QoL upgrades to resources, summoning, and text clarity
