When you’re just starting out in the game, the Chief’s House quickly becomes one of the most important buildings you’ll need to focus on. This essential building unlocks once you upgrade your Furnace to Level 6.

Inside the Chief’s House, you’ll discover six unique books containing the Chief Orders — powerful boosts that can accelerate your city’s growth, increase resource production, and speed up survivor healing. In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know about the Chief Orders and how to use them effectively.

What Are Chief Orders? 📚

Chief Orders are divided into six different types, but for easier understanding, we’ll group them into three main categories:

  1. Farming Boost Orders & Mood Restoration Orders
  2. Healing Boost Orders ❤️
  3. Development Acceleration Orders 🏗️

Let’s take a closer look at each one:

1. Chief Orders for Farming Boost 🌾

These orders are focused on maximizing your resource output. There are four key orders under this category:

  • Urgent Mobilization
Forces all survivors at worksites to work nonstop for 48 hours (Survivor Time). However, it decreases all survivors’ Mood by -10.
  • Productivity Day
Doubles the resource output (+100%) across all worksites for 24 hours (Survivor Time), at the cost of -10 Mood for all survivors.
    • Cooldown: 12 hours (real-time)
    • Cost: 50,000 Contentment per activation.
  • Rush Job
Instantly grants five days’ worth of resources from all worksites (Survivor Time).
    • Cooldown: 12 hours (real-time)
    • Cost: 150,000 Contentment per activation.

Pro Tip: Activate Urgent Mobilization, Productivity Day, and Rush Job consecutively for a massive surge in resource production. This combination offers the highest boost to your core resource output.

  • Festivities
After the heavy work orders, use Festivities to restore your survivors’ morale.
It boosts Mood by 50 and Comfort by 30 during a Day of City Festivities (Survivor Time).
    • Cooldown: 1 day (real-time)
    • Cost: 50,000 Contentment per activation.

2. Chief Order for Healing Boost ❤️

When your city faces harsh events like snowstorms, healing becomes critical. The Comprehensive Care order ensures your survivors bounce back quickly.

  • Comprehensive Care
Instantly heals all sick survivors in the city.
    • Cooldown: 4 hours (real-time)
    • Cost: 150,000 Contentment per activation.

This order is especially useful early in the game, when your city’s infrastructure isn’t strong enough to handle mass illnesses (mostly caused by the Snowstorm). As your city stabilizes, you’ll find you’ll need this order less often.

3. Chief Order for Development Acceleration 🏗️

Looking to speed up your construction and upgrades? Double Time is the order you’ll want to rely on.

  • Double Time
Accelerates new building construction and upgrades by 20% starting 5 minutes after activation.
    • Cooldown: 23 hours (real-time)
    • Cost: 800,000 Contentment per activation.

Important Tip: Always activate Double Time before starting any upgrades to ensure you receive the boost. Plan wisely to upgrade as many buildings as possible during the 5-minute window!

🚀 Maximize Chief Orders During the Foundation Phase

If your Furnace level is still between Level 1–16 (Foundation Phase), it’s crucial to use Chief Orders every day to maximize your city’s growth. The right timing and combination of these orders will give you a serious advantage in resource production, healing, and development speed.

😊 What is Contentment?

Throughout this guide, you’ve seen the term Contentment — but what exactly is it?

Contentment is the in-game currency (exclusive only at Chief’s House) used to activate Chief Orders. You can earn Contentment passively as Survivors work at their respective stations, such as Hunter’s Hut, Sawmill, and other resource sites.

As long as your survivors are assigned and working, your Contentment will keep increasing automatically — even while you’re offline or sleeping! Just make sure your city’s resource-producing buildings are always fully staffed to maintain a steady flow.

💭 Final Thoughts

Mastering the use of the Chief’s House and Chief Orders can significantly speed up your progress in the early game. Whether it’s boosting your resource production, healing your survivors after a crisis, or accelerating your city’s upgrades, strategic use of these orders every day will set you far ahead of the competition.

Make the most of your Contentment, and keep your city thriving!
