The Snowbuster event is a fresh and exciting addition to Whiteout Survival, introduced in the April 2025 update. This event brings a brand-new gameplay mechanic where players operate the Buster machine to clear snow and rescue their city after a massive snowstorm blocks the main walkways.
Let’s dive into the rules, gameplay mechanics, and tips you need to master this event!

📜 How to Play the Snowbuster Event

When you start the Snowbuster event, you’ll find yourself in level 1 of 25 snowy areas. In each area, you begin with Fire Level 1 — think of it like a mini Furnace. This fire source is crucial for two reasons:

  • It keeps the surrounding environment warm.
  • It allows your Buster (the player character) to regenerate health.

You can upgrade the Fire by collecting Coal scattered around the snowy area. Each upgrade not only improves the Fire but also clears a larger area of snow automatically. Some Fires in different areas can be upgraded to higher maximum levels than others.

🔥 Clearing Snow and Progressing Through Areas

As a Buster, your main goal is to clear snow starting from Area 1. You will be equipped with four essential Snowbuster Gears:

  • Snowbuster (Increase ATK & Snowbuster Range)
  • Gloves (Increase Health & Reduce Fuel Use Per Second)
  • Coat (Damage Mitigation & Fuel Recovery Up)
  • Boots (Increase Movement Speed & Fire Health Regen/s)

These gears help you survive snowstorms and fend off vicious beast attacks.

As you complete each area, you earn Snowbuster Toolkits which you can use to upgrade your gear — making snow clearing faster and easier. However, gear upgrades reset with each new event session, so you’ll need to upgrade again next time.

⛽ Managing Fuel and Temperature

Fuel is the heart of your Snowbuster operation.

  • Fuel consumption increases with the difficulty of snowdrifts and colder local temperatures.
  • Run out of Fuel, and you’ll be stuck, unable to clear any more snow.

Keep an eye on your Fuel at all times! Stock up whenever possible to avoid getting stranded. But if you run out of Fuel, then you can wait for it to regenerate every 5 minutes during the event (base regen is 12 points).

🎁 Hidden Treasures While Clearing Snow

As you plow through the snow, you might uncover some exciting surprises:

  • Treasure Chests containing valuable rewards.
  • Frozen Survivors who, once rescued, will help you clear snow faster.
  • Snowmen hiding useful resources inside.

All rewards (except Fuel and Coal) are temporarily stored in your Snowbuster Backpack until you complete your current objective.

⚔️ Dangers Along the Way

Be careful!

  • Vicious Beasts are territorial and will attack if you get too close.
  • Raging Snowstorms can severely damage your Buster if you get caught.

If your HP reaches 0, you’ll have to retreat to the nearest Fire to heal, losing any Coal you’ve collected. Stay alert and avoid unnecessary risks!

🎯 Goal: Clear the Snow and Move Forward

To move to the next area, you must complete the snow-clearing objective for your current location.

The higher the area level you reach, the better the rewards you’ll earn — including Snowbuster Arena decorations, Toolkits, Fire Crystals, Essence Stones, Lucky Hero Gear Chests, Resource Supply Chests, and Enhancement XP Components.

💥 Powerful Items to Boost Your Progress

Throughout the event, you’ll find special items that give you significant advantages:

  • Super Snowbuster – Strengthens your Snowbuster, making snow clearing faster for a limited time.
  • Portable Snowshield – Protects you from Beast attacks with a temporary shield.

  • Gems
  • Hero Shards

  • Essence Stones, and more

For completionists, this means there are a total of 260 stars across all four themes — a treasure trove of rewards waiting to be claimed!

🧊 How to Collect Guide Items

Collecting guide items is all about exploration.
You’ll find these items by defeating beasts, clearing snow and opening hidden chests buried in snowdrifts throughout each area.

If you happen to pick up a duplicate item, don’t worry — it will automatically be converted into a Map Fragment.
You can use these Map Fragments in the Map Search tab within the Snowbuster event.

And here’s a bonus: Unused Map Fragments will carry over into future event sessions, so you won’t lose your progress if you miss completing a set.

Final Tips for the Snowbuster Event

🎮 Now that you know how the Snowbuster event works, here are some essential tips to help you play more efficiently and make the most out of every run.

🔋 Tip #1: How to Get More Fuel

Fuel is super important in this event — and here’s how you can get it:

  • First, while you’re playing the event, you’ll sometimes find Fuel by breaking snowmen. They might randomly drop it!
  • Second, make sure to complete your daily Snowbuster missions. These missions give you Fuel rewards every single day during the event.
  • Third, Fuel regenerates automatically every 5 minutes. The base regen rate is 12 points, but as you progress to higher areas, the regen rate also increases.
  • Fourth, check out the Snowbuster Pass milestone rewards. You can earn Fuel for free as you progress, or buy the Ice Breaker Pack or Ice Bath Champion pack to unlock even more rewards.
  • And lastly, consider purchasing the Snow Warrior Pack. It gives you Fuel, a Snowbuster Toolkit, and even a Rocket, which can help you clear snow way faster.

⛽ Tip #2: How to Save Fuel While Clearing Snow

Here’s how to make your Fuel last longer:

  • First, upgrade your Snowbuster Gear — especially your Gloves and Coat. These two pieces help improve Fuel efficiency and increase Fuel recovery.
  • Second, when you enter a new area, focus on clearing snow that’s far away from the Fire first. Why? Because every time you upgrade the Fire, it will automatically melt the snow around it. So by clearing the edges first, you let the Fire do the rest and save your Fuel.
  • And when you’ve cleared about 95% of the area, don’t be afraid to use your Rocket. It’s a smart way to finish off the last bits of snow without wasting Fuel you’ll need in the next area.

🎯 Tip #3: Focus on the Main Objectives

Staying on track makes everything easier:

  • While clearing snow, don’t wander too far from your main objective.
  • If you spot a power item early on, use it! Items like the Ultra Magnet or Super Snowbuster can make snow clearing much faster and more efficient.
  • Next, prioritize finding Frozen Survivors. Once rescued, they’ll help you clear snow and gather resources quicker — and they’re great support when dealing with beasts.
  • After that, you can go for Snowmen or any other side objectives you see. But always stay focused — this approach will save you both time and Fuel.

🔥 Tip #4: Always Collect Coal to Upgrade Your Fire

This might seem simple, but it’s critical:

  • The Fire in each area isn’t just for warmth — it’s your safe zone and your healing spot.
  • So, whenever you collect enough Coal, upgrade the Fire right away. It expands the melted area around it, keeps you safe from the cold, and helps regenerate your Buster’s health faster.
